Electronic Government
The “New Lebanese party” has been at the forefront of proposing the Electronic Government or Digital State project and promoting its concept through various lectures and events.
What is Electronic Government or the Digital State?
Many countries around the world seek to develop their administrative system digitally, known as the Electronic Government or Digital State. Several countries have successfully transformed their entire administrative system into a digital one.
This system relies on using Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to improve and enhance the delivery of public services, exchange information, and facilitate communication between the government and citizens.
Electronic Government is the concept of using digital technologies to provide access to government services and improve the quality of those services. Through Electronic Government, governments can reduce costs, streamline processes, and enhance communication with citizens. One of the key advantages of Electronic Government is improving easy access to information through the use of the internet. The government can provide citizens with detailed information about its services, making government activities more transparent and enabling citizens to better understand their government.
Electronic Government utilizes various gateways, such as websites, mobile applications, and social media platforms, enabling citizens to access information and services through these applications. This includes tasks such as tax payments, driver’s license renewal, applying for government benefits and job positions, renewing official documents, paying fees, and all matters related to citizens’ civil roles, from anywhere and at any time.
This model of Electronic Government helps improve government efficiency and transparency by reducing paper-based work and simplifying bureaucratic processes. It enhances citizen participation by providing services in an easy and straightforward manner, saving time, effort, and stress. In an Electronic Government, there are no waiting queues, favoritism, or nepotism.
