The state of the new Lebanese and its political system
Building a secular political system.
In Lebanon, we may be in need as a people of the secular system, and it is the only system that can get us out of the bottleneck in which we are stuck because there is no other alternative system that can make everyone equal, between the right of citizens to participate in political action from any religious or ethnic background, or in terms of men’s rights. Or a woman whose religious laws cannot be fair among themselves in many matters and rulings.
The secular system is not against any sect, sect or religion, and working on it does not threaten the existence and status of sects and religions, rather it will be fair to them and to all under the basic principles of the concept of the modern secular state.
A secular state is a state characterized by the separation of religion from government and politics, and considers secularism a basic principle in its political and constitutional system. In other words, the secular state respects religious freedom and the religious beliefs of individuals, but adopts secularism in its systems, laws, and political decisions.
Secular states are characterized by adopting a unified law and treating all citizens equally without discrimination on the basis of religion, race, sex, color or any other factor. It also respects the rights of religious minorities and gives them freedom to worship and express their views.
The secular state is an advanced model of democracy and good governance, and many people consider it the ideal political system to achieve progress, prosperity and stability, especially in diverse societies.
